May the Force be with You (or not)
Aug. 16th, 2017 03:38 pmBecause Obi-Wan's abilities are many and far-reaching, I've put together a permissions post for all things Force-related that might be a little bit questionable/too close to god-modding. Just fill this out when you get a chance, please and thanks, or drop me a note if you think of something I forgot that you want me to avoid.
I have a lot of Feelings
1. Are you okay with Obi-Wan picking up general Feelings about your character, i.e. mood, stress level, deception?
2. If Obi-Wan is extremely good friends with/emotionally close to your character, are you okay with him picking up said Feelings at greater distances than in the same room, i.e. down the hall, three floors away?
3. If Obi-Wan is extremely good friends with/emotionally close to your character, are you okay with him having a slightly larger scale of Feelings-detection in regard to your character, i.e. physical harm/distress/death?
With a big enough lever I can move the world
1. Are you okay with Obi-Wan being able to influence your character's mind? A lot of it is based on strength of will of the person he's trying to influence, but this is just a general "if it applies are you okay with it" and we'll figure specifics out on a case by case basis as needed.
2. Are you okay with Obi-Wan being able to telekinetic in your character's presence? This mostly extends to physically taking things from people/moving objects and Force pushes; it's kind of an overpowered move depending on context, so this encompasses all of that narratively-useful moving of things. If it might tip the balance too far in Obi-Wan's favor I'll talk to you about it first, I'm not going to just powergame for the hell of it, much like the last question this is more feeling out who would be okay with this kind of thing in theory rather than a hard "you can totally do this always".
3. Anything I missed that you do or don't want to happen?

Date: 2017-08-16 09:43 pm (UTC)1. Aaaaabsolutely. If that sense of dishonesty is about genuine truthfulness of statements, he will almost always tell the truth even if it's told slant. Now, if it's about general deceptiveness? He is full of shit, just about 24/7. And if he has any kind of hatred 'o' meter, that thing will probably be running at orange to red most of the time no matter what he's saying or doing. Though he won't really be stressed, if that's weird.
2. Doubt it'll happen but sure, if it does.
3. Same as above.
MIND POWERS
1. I'm gonna say no mostly because I'm pretty sure literal gods have tried and it didn't much work so I don't think that'd work on him.
2. Forcepush him all you like up and down the street. I WOULD assume, however, that his own warp ability would probably break the force push 'hold' on him but as of the moment, he's only got one use of that per encounter, really, so it shouldn't play into things much.
3. The 'starscourge' that he's mentioned as being a part of him is in fact microscopic life forms of a type, even if the exact mechanics are VERRUH fantasy-ish. So he may be able to pick up on that 'life'.

1. Sure! Andred is basically recovering from having been an emotional mess and is generally bitter half the time, but other than that I'm cool with it (and will try to remember to make mention of emotional cues in tags.)
2. Sure!
3. Also fine!
Powers
1. I'm fine with it if it should happen to come up? But Tesla will be less than amused at it, and Andred will probably be more resistant that average thanks to Time Lords being Time Lords.
2. Perfectly fine! They might be variously annoyed/irritated by it, but that's probably to be expected.

levers

3. SO MUCH FUN

Date: 2017-09-01 07:56 am (UTC)Feelings:
1. 90% YES GO FOR IT, however, Jedao does have some scry-resistance ability in his canon, but that tends to apply more to active interrogation than passive observation. If I think it should apply, I'll specify in my tag.
2. & 3. - if they get to that point and you think it's IC, sure!
Levers:
1. I'm cool with him trying, but Jedao is a) canonically a genius and incredibly strong willed, but also b) has had his mind actively fucked with and rearranged on multiple occasions by the best psych surgeon in his canon, so poking his mind might work really well, or not at all, or produce unexpected and skewed results, depending on how it interacts with what Kujen did to him. Which is the sort of stuff that can be hashed out with circumstances, but that's the background!
2. Sure, totally!
3. I do my best to explain the weird canon stuff about his shadow and his time as a revenant in terms of what I think a force-user would pick up, but if anything is ever unclear, let me know!
Dillon (
Feelings: Yes to all!
Lever:
1. No, I don't think it'd work on him.
2. Sure, go ahead.
3. Dillon is....a piece of a reincarnated star, and literally a source of near-infinite vivifying power that pulls order out of randomness, reverses entropy, heals and brings back the dead, etc. His own super weird powers (and perms post) are explained in more detail here. I figure Obi-wan would definitely read him as a very powerful concentration of the force.
Alan Scott
Date: 2017-09-01 05:04 pm (UTC)1. Not going to work. Alan is pure unadulterated WILL score.
2. Absolutely! Go for it!
3. Not really!
Clark Luthor
Date: 2017-09-01 05:14 pm (UTC)1. Clark's extremely intelligent, and his mind works at ridiculous speeds to process the amount of input he has, but he has only rudimentary defenses against psychic attack of any kind. But he's definitely able to be controlled so... yes though probably with some difficulty.
2. Absolutely!
3. Nothing in particular, other than that he's very VERY tetchy about being influenced so choosing to do so will result in a serious issue between the two of them.
